Structures in Fire Forum - Autumn 2016

Location:

CSEC - Centre for Science at Extreme Conditions - Seminar Room

Date:

Monday, September 5, 2016 - 10:30 to 16:00

The Structures in Fire Forum is a discussion group for researchers, specialists and design professionals interested in the behaviour of all types of structures (steel, composite, concrete, timber, novel materials etc...) under the influence of fire, and in the development of rational structural fire engineering deign methods and guidance. The forums subject matter is by no means confined to the thermo-mechanical behaviour of the various materials, but the development and control of fires and the influence on the performance of the whole structural system fire protection systems, total fire safety engineering, and design code developments, issues and best practise.

On September the 5th, 2016, the forum will be meeting at the University of Edinburgh's Centre for Science at Extreme Conditions (CSEC). The one-day forum will explore current issues in structural fire engineering with 6 or 7 presentations from academia, consultancy and product manufacturers.

The forum is a free event due to sponsorship from The Steel Construction Institute, The Concrete Centre, AECOM and Olsson Fire.
