Engaging for Impact: STEM Research in Policy, Regulation and Standards

This event aims to support academics to understand how STEM research influences policy, regulation, standards, and practice.

Through panel discussions and a practical workshop, we will explore how government, regulators, and standards bodies use research, and share actionable insights on effective engagement.

The programme will include:

10:30Academic perspectives: real-world experiences of influencing policy, regulation, and standards
11:00Insights from the Campaign for Science and Engineering (CaSE) - Influencing policy: Evidence, timing, and impact
11:30Research user perspectives: professionals and practitioners discuss how STEM research informs their work
12:45Networking lunch
13:45Workshop: A practical evidencing workshop on policy, regulatory, and standards impact from STEM research
14:30Closing remarks and informal networking
