This Research Associate position will contribute to the SPEXS project within the Institute for Micro and Nano Systems at the University of Edinburgh, which is funded by Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and in collaboration with colleagues at Universities of Glasgow, Heriot-Watt and Sheffield.

In the next decade, distributed sensor network systems made of insect-scale flying sensors will enable a step change in monitoring natural disasters and remote areas.

The combination of Sensing and Measurement is arguably the most fundamental scientific discipline required and utilised by society: it impacts on all areas of life from integrated atomic clocks for GPS location, through the myriad of chemical and physical sensors found in science, industry, environmental monitoring, consumer goods, biomedicine, food, energy and transport.
