Rory, MEng Chemical Engineering student
"In high school, when discussing with a teacher my options for courses at university I told him that I had a strong interest in maths, chemistry and physics. He suggested chemical engineering and the more I researched it, the more it seemed like the right choice for me. I really liked the atmosphere at King's Buildings when I visited on the applicant's day and so Edinburgh became my first choice."

The University’s close connection with industry was an important factor for me. I want to gain experience in various firms during my studies and I believe the University’s close links with industry will help me gain the experience I would like.
Alex, MEng Mechanical Engineering student
"After doing well at school, I had many options to consider in terms of choosing the right university for me. I came to Edinburgh primarily because of the great reputation that the engineering department at the University of Edinburgh has. In addition to this, the city itself really appealed to me. I had visited it before I moved because my sister was already studying here. I found the city to be extremely continental in nature, and more like a large town than a metropolitan capital city. After almost 5 years of living and studying in Edinburgh, I definitely think I made the right choice."
