Welcome to Anthropocene – A layman's view on the unfolding Environmental crisis

Abstract

The talk will cover the environmental impact of humanity, presented as a very recent species which risks becoming the shortest-lived species ever.

Fernando will share his understanding of the state of the planet and will stress that its carrying capacity is beyond its limits. He will illustrate the consequences of this “overshooting” on the Inhabitability of the Earth.

The last part of the talk will focus on three possible responses to the predicament: Transition Network, Extinction Rebellion and Deep Adaptation.
