Research Associate in Construction Informatics

We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Associate to join the CyberBuild Lab in the School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh. The Research Associate will contribute to the COGITO project, which is funded by the European Commission H2020 programme and is delivered in collaboration with colleagues at 12 other organisations spread across 7 European countries. In a nutshell, the COGITO project aims to develop and integrate product and process solutions to deliver Digital Twins of construction sites.
The position will primarily be about undertaking research in the area of automated control of construction quality using 3D imagery and Building Information Modelling technologies (around the Scan-vs-BIM principle). The position holder will also engage with the European project partners to coordinate and integrate work. The position holder will also work on the project in collaboration with the lead academic and another senior Research Associate.
Applicants must have a good undergraduate degree and a PhD in a field relevant to the research area, such as Computer Science or Engineering, or possibly another clearly related area. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate good ability to code with programming languages, such as C++, C#, Python, Matlab.

Salary UE07 £33,797 to £40,322 pa.
