Welcome to NEMD 2026 We are pleased to announce the 5th Non-Equilibrium Molecular Dynamics (NEMD) Conference, to be held at The University of Edinburgh, from 6 to 10 July 2026.NEMD 2026 will bring together researchers from across physics, chemistry, engineering, and applied mathematics to discuss recent advances in non-equilibrium molecular simulation, theory, and applications. The conference continues the successful NEMD series, following the 2025 meeting in Osaka, Japan. An optional two-day summer school (6 to 7 July 2026) will precede the conference, offering hands-on training in NEMD modelling, from fundamentals to modern machine-learning-based approaches. Scope Non-equilibrium molecular dynamics (NEMD) is the study of micro-nano-scopic behaviour of matter driven away from thermodynamic equilibrium using molecular simulation. Such non-equilibrium conditions arise in fluids, solids, and soft matter when systems are subjected to external forcing, including mechanical deformation, shear or wall motion, temperature and pressure gradients, electric fields, or interfacial and confinement effectsWe welcome contributions covering all aspects of non-equilibrium molecular modelling across a broad range of materials and systems, including (but not limited to):Multiphase and interfacial flowsHeat and mass transferNucleation and phase changeFlow, deformation, and transport in porous and confined mediaNovel modelling, analytical, and post-processing techniquesCoarse-graining and multiscale methodsMachine Learning potentialsPractical applications of MD modelling to industryBoth fundamental studies and application-driven research are strongly encouraged. Summer School A 2-day intensive summer school on Non-Equilibrium Molecular Dynamics (NEMD) applied to Fluid Dynamics and Interfacial Phenomena (6 to 7 July 2026). Registration Register for NEMD 2026!
