Jianhua Liu

LIU, Jianhua (China): (M). PhD (Eng.), Professor, Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China. Professor Liu has long been dedicated to the research of high-field superconducting magnets and their engineering applications, achieving a series of world-leading, original breakthroughs. These milestones include a 32.35 T all-superconducting magnet (2019), a 27.5 T high-temperature superconducting (HTS) user magnet (2025), the world’s first liquid-nitrogen-temperature MRI system (2025), and a 35.6 T all-superconducting user magnet (2026). He has published over 100 SCI-indexed papers and holds more than 30 authorized patents, with his achievements widely applied across major national science and technology infrastructures. He has been honored with the IOP Best Cited Paper Award, three Gold Medals at the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, and the First Prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Award.
