Undergraduate programmes (2+2, 2+3)

We have agreements in place with several overseas universities which allow you to study Engineering both at your home institution and at The University of Edinburgh.

This allows you to study at your home institution for the first two years before transferring to the University of Edinburgh to complete a further two or three years of study. On successful completion of your degree, you will graduate with a Bachelor of Engineering (2+2) or an Integrated Masters of Engineering (2+3) awarded by Edinburgh. You may also be eligible for the award of a Bachelor degree from your home university, allowing you to obtain two degrees at the same time. All students who take part in the 2+2 or 2+3 programmes will receive a £3,000 scholarship per year of study at Edinburgh.

What can I study at the University of Edinburgh?

You can choose between a BEng qualification (2+2) or a MEng (2+3) qualification from the University of Edinburgh. The entry requirements are the same. You can transfer to the MEng programme once you are at Edinburgh subject to academic performance.

Before choosing one of our programmes of study, you should find out if the degree you are currently studying matches well with ours. This means that you should have covered our pre-requisite subjects in the first two years at your home institution. You can check what we cover in the first two years by looking at our Degree Programme Tables.

We may ask you to attend a 4-week pre-sessional course in the summer to cover any discrepancies in the curriculum match between your university and ours. If you are in doubt about this, please contact your International Office.
