The Covid-19 pandemic has created an unprecedented demand for protective gear, and the School has been at the forefront of local efforts to supply key workers with face shields.
Dr Simone Dimartino’s research group have won first prize for their science communication video at an international conference in Milan. The video, which was filmed in the style of a 'silent film' from the early 20th century, takes inspiration from Milan Cathedral to illustrate a novel way to separate liquid using 3D printing.
American materials scientist and engineer Professor Jennifer Ann Lewis has been recognised for her outstanding contribution to the field of engineering with an honorary degree from the University of Edinburgh. Lewis received the honour during the School of Engineering graduation ceremony at the McEwan Hall on Wednesday 3 July 2019.
Dr Norbert Radacsi is a Senior Lecturer (US equivalent: Associate Professor) at The University of Edinburgh. He obtained his Ph.D. at the Delft University of Technology.
