The 5th Colloquium on Vortex Dominated Flows (DisCoVor 2026) will be held in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, from 8th to 11th June 2026.
The colloquium will focus on the flow physics of unsteady and vortex-dominated flows. Topics of particular interest include biological flight/swimming, physiological flows, flow control, energy harvesting, separated flows, wakes, and other shear and vortical flows. Experimental, computational, analytical and data-driven modelling contributions are all encouraged.
DisCoVor is designed not only to showcase the latest advances in vortex-dominated flow research but also to cultivate meaningful engagement and lively discussions among attendees. Each of the four colloquium days will open with a morning session of oral presentations, followed by afternoons dedicated to poster sessions, networking opportunities, and group activities.
Venue
DisCoVor will be hosted by the University of Edinburgh at the School of Engineering on the university’s historic campus, with the main colloquium sessions taking place in the iconic Playfair Library.
