Dr Julianna Panidi

Dr Julianna Panidi is a Chancellor’s Fellow and Lecturer in Climate, Energy and Sustainability at the Institute for Integrated Micro and Nano Systems (IMNS) within the School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh, where she joined in October 2024. She leads the Sustainable Printable Electronics Research Group, developing sustainable solution-processed and printable electronic technologies for energy harvesting, sensing and optoelectronic applications.

Julianna is the Co-Chair of the School of Engineering People & Culture Committee and the founder of InEng (Inclusive Engineering), an initiative that promotes an inclusive, collaborative and supportive research culture across engineering disciplines.

Before joining the University of Edinburgh, Julianna was an EPSRC David Clarke Fellow in the Department of Chemistry at Imperial College London. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), a Mental Health First Aider, and was selected as a Fellow of the 2024 European Talent Academy.

Julianna completed her PhD in Applied Physics at Imperial College London in 2020 as part of the Plastic Electronics Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT). She also holds an MRes in Physics and Nanomaterials from Sorbonne Université (formerly Université Pierre et Marie Curie), Paris, France, and a BSc in Materials Science from the University of Patras, Greece.
