The Chemical Engineering Teaching Lab has been awarded the 2020 Silver Sustainability Award by the University’s Department for Social Responsibility & Sustainability. The award recognises the team’s effort in reducing the lab’s carbon footprint, sharing good practices, improving waste management and moving towards more sustainable and less energy-intensive approaches.
Third year mechanical engineering student Maks Kozarzewski has been named in Forbes' '25 under 25' listing in Poland. He is one of just five young people listed in the ‘Innovation’ category for his work with the University’s student society HYPED. The list, which is compiled by Forbes magazine and McKinsey & Company Warsaw, seeks to identify rising stars with the potential to positively "influence the development of the Polish economy and society".

Krisna Pawitan, a PhD student in the Institute for Energy Systems, has received the Best Student Presentation Award at the 4th Asian Wave and Tidal Energy Conference in Taiwan in September.
