Academic Industry Meeting day, or AIMday, is built around individual company workshops. Questions posed by each company are discussed in one hour workshops with academics who have specific knowledge in the area in question. The aim being to identify possible pathways to a solution.
The workshops blend a range of academic knowledge together for a short period of time which can spark innovative and creative solutions to commercial problems.
The University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh Research Innovation are organising this AIMday in partnership with the University Defence Research Collaboration (UDRC) for Sensor Signal Processing for Defence.
Funded by Dstl and EPSRC, the UDRC for Sensor Signal Processing for Defence, has made notable contributions toward its objective of developing a world-class skills base in sensor signal processing and imaging. Made up of 7 leading Universities and 40 academic researchers the UDRC covers all types of sensor modality from handheld chemical sensors to persistent wide area surveillance systems, ensuring UDRC’s research strengths within the Sensors Signal Processing and Imaging arena.
