The International Micro and Nano Flows Conference series originated at the University of Strathclyde in 2006 and was followed by meetings at Brunel University London in 2009, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2011, University College London in 2014, Politecnico di Milano in 2016, Georgia Institute of Technology in 2018, Imperial College London in 2021 and the University of Padua in 2023.
Since its inception, the conference has become well established internationally with its unique blend of topics in thermofluid engineering and biomedical and bioprocess engineering in the field of small-scale flows. The conference committee has recognised that the challenges faced by engineers and designers of micro- to nanoscale devices are broadly similar, whether they relate to heat transfer and thermal management of systems or biomedical applications.
