The School of Engineering hosted the 4th annual University of Edinburgh Women in STEMM Workshop on the 23rd of June to coincide with National Women in Engineering Day.
The day was a great success with students, researchers and academics from across the University attending to hear 6 amazing speakers. Our special thanks go to Tina Düren, Anne Richards, Caroline Corden, Hilary Jones, Louise Horsfall and Steven Neale who made the day by offering insights into their careers.
The feedback was very positive with comments including:
- I really appreciated hearing the answers in the Q&A session. They were really useful and personal. I found it very helpful for personal challenges and they really spoke to me.
- I really liked the diversity of speakers and how they represented different types of jobs and career stages.
- Keep up the good work promoting women in science.
- Excellent day. Great speakers and good range of topics discussed.
Look out for next year’s event which will be held in the School of Geosciences.
