Dr Tim Stratford and Dr Martin Crapper were recently commended by the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) for their Excellence in Structural Engineering Education.
The award was made for "Teaching Skills for Conceptual Design - A New Approach", the result of creating a design thread through our civil engineering programmes that gradually builds student’s design skills, to tackle challenging, badly defined, real-life problems, and gives space in our curriculum to learn by making mistakes.
