Electronics and Electrical Engineering at Edinburgh Headstart Course

We are looking forward to welcoming the attendees of the 2018 Electronics and Electrical Engineering at Edinburgh Headstart course next week.

Headstart provides week long taster courses for S5/Year 12 students interested in pursuing a degree in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.  This will be the fourth consecutive year that the School of Engineering has hosted an electronics and electrical engineering focused course.

The week includes example lectures and practical laboratories, tours of research and industrial facilities and the opportunity to meet with recent graduates who work in local employers.  This year’s programme includes:

  • A visit to the Edinburgh office of Cirrus Logic
  • A barbeque and games evening relaxing with staff and students
  • An opportunity to see Edinburgh at the Camera Obscura
  • An autonomous vehicle workshop run by the Imaging division of STMicroelectronics (see video below recorded during last year's course).

The 2018 course will run from Monday 18th with a closing lunch and prize giving on Friday 22nd June
