A team of staff and students from the School will run in the Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday 26 May 2019 in memory of Regius Professor Jason Reese who died on 8 March this year.

Professor Reese was an internationally renowned engineering scientist, respected academic and valued mentor to many. He made pioneering contributions to understanding the behaviour of gases and liquids at ultra-small scales, work which is now underpinning a broad range of key technologies for the 21st century.

The running team –  Antonis Giannopoulos, Aristides Kiprakis, Davide Masiello, Evangelos Vlachos, Hanning Mai, James Maguire, Karina Jeronimo Martinez, Lesley Gibson, Nestor Jonguitud Borrego, Simona Aracri, Sorcha Daly, Vasileios Koutsos, and Wojciech Serwatka – are fundraising to create a new Engineering prize for students in Professor Reese’s name.
