Anna Dunbar, a postgraduate student in the Institute for Energy Systems, has won the Best Poster Prize at the first UK Energy Storage Research Conference (UKES2014) held at Warwick University in November 2014.
Senior hardware engineer Naomi Mitchison, who graduated with an MEng in Electronic and Electrical Engineering in 2009, has been named the Institution of Engineering and Technology’s (IET) Young Woman Engineer of the Year for her inspirational work with laser warning systems for military aircraft.
In November 2014 John Thompson hosted ADVANTAGE’s first training event here in the School of Engineering. John is the Project Co-ordinator for ADVANTAGE, a major inter-disciplinary and inter-sectoral project between Power and Communications engineering research and development communities.
On Wednesday 7th January, the annual meeting of the Tectonic Studies Group comes to Edinburgh this year and will include a special "Question Time" session to debate geological aspects of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS).
