Some chemical engineering problems can only be realistically solved by computational methods e.g. multidimensional and numerical integration. Various methods have been developed for different applications - one of the simplest tools used to solve engineering problems is Microsoft Excel. Although its use is limited to simpler problems, it can still perform iterations that would take hours and hours of time to perform otherwise.
We will be combining some of the tools you have learned in Computational Methods for Chemical Engineers with a Separations Processes problem in Vapour-Liquid Phase Equlibria to strengthen both areas. This will give some insight into computational methods used by chemical engineers, and give some time to clarify on areas in Separations.
