I have a grandson Nathan, aged four, who has been diagnosed with autism.  He attends nursery four days a week, but not on a Friday. The School of Engineering supported my request to compress my working hours into a four day week, such that I need not work on a Friday. This allows me to look after Nathan and take him on different adventures as he enjoys travelling by bus and train. This has been of great benefit to my family, and has allowed me to spend time with Nathan, as well as his brother, that I might otherwise not have been able to.
