The Institute for Materials and Processes brings together researchers in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering and materials science. Our vision is to produce world-class research to advance engineering applications of materials and processes, and to provide a high-quality and creative research environment. Our research tackles important societal challenges ranging from reducing greenhouse gas emissions, to sustainable energy, clean water, and healthcare. We develop and integrate experimental, computational and theoretical methods to shed light on the underlying science and to engineer solutions for these challenges.Research themesCarbon Capture and Separation ProcessesDigital Design and ManufactureMaterials Design, Processing and CharacterisationReaction Engineering and CatalysisSystems Modelling from Atoms to ProcessesERPE contributionCarbon Capture and StorageMaterialsMaterials and GeomechanicsResearch centresSuperGen, UK Centre for Marine EnergyCarbon Capture at The University of EdinburghResearch facilitiesCurved Wave TankFurther informationResearch themesOur peopleUpcoming Seminars, talks and events and Past eventsPhD opportunitiesResearch activityContact us This article was published on 2024-09-12
