Widening Participation

Widening Participation aims to address educational inequalities and patterns of under-representation in Higher Education.

There are many barriers, which can affect a person’s aspirations and trajectory in life including social, financial, cultural, or geographical factors. Widening Participation works to raise aspirations towards Higher Education and help remove obstacles so that individuals, regardless of background, can build and pursue their own ambitions.

The University of Edinburgh offers contextual admissions and scholarships for eligible students, in support of widening access.
