Congratulations to the following shortlisted nominees and winners who received their certificates and awards at a prize-giving ceremony on Thursday 14 December 2023.

The awards were launched as part of Technician Week 2023, which was convened to celebrate the various contributions of technicians across the institution, and to provide career development, resources and networking opportunities.
Dr Sally Morgan, Technical Services Manager for the School of Engineering and Chair of the University’s Technician Steering Committee, commented:
“We were delighted with the response from across the University community to the call for nominations for the first Technician Awards. The Awards have highlighted how critical the support provided by technical staff is to the running and success of the University. I am hopeful that the Awards will become an annual fixture in the University’s calendar to continue to recognise the vital contributions made by colleagues.”
Head of the School of Engineering, Professor Gareth Harrison said:
"I am delighted that several of our technicians have been recognised in the University’s inaugural Technician Awards. Our technical staff are often the unsung heroes of the University community, yet it is their excellence, skill and dedication which underpins much of the work of our school – from teaching to research. Congratulations to the winners, nominees, and our wider technical team for their achievements.”
