Biography: 

I currently hold a Senior Lectureship in Materials Modelling and Design at the University of Edinburgh, UK. My activities and interests are in the fields of bioinspired science and composites engineering. I research a number of different biological organisms from a fundamental point of view, as well as a variety of materials and processing applications from a more applied perspective. My goals are ultimately to holistically characterise and mimic specialised physico-chemical and structural qualities/functionalities of biological origin.
