Failure Modes of Engineering (FeME): a network for future inclusivity, sustainability, and global impact

“Failure Modes of Engineering (FeME)” is an interdisciplinary programme combining research and network building across different areas of engineering, science, systems, education, and psychology.

The FeME vision is to challenge the disproportionate impact that climate change and biodiversity loss have on women, children and underrepresented communities globally through improved engineering solutions. More than that, we want to empower these groups as crucial agents for the future engineering that we need.

FeME is funded as part of the EPSRC Tomorrow’s Engineering Challenges Network Plus initiative with a £2.2 million grant over three years, and is a collaboration between University of Edinburgh, University of Glasgow and Heriot-Watt University.
